This trip involved a pick up from hotel to depot, to a stop at the Golden Gate Bridge for a photo, and drop off to Muirs Woods, entrance fees included, where you are provided a map, it’s a self guided your. The bus trip was very good, Charles was so funny, and made the trip very pleasant, providing us with history of the woods, the bridge, and Sausalito towns area. Overall a pleasant trip, the woods is a must see, beautiful tall trees, a pleasant and tranquil walk through nature.

The good: Muir Woods is fabulously beautiful, and a treat after a few days in the city. Well worth the fairly short trip. It wasn't much colder than the city itself. Our driver, Mr. Chabli, was informative, attentive, and humorous. After the Woods, he was the highlight of the trip. The cafe was limited but had decent enough food, The two bookstores were standard (the one by the visitor center is much smaller) and the lines for the women's restroom were long (also, sadly, standard.) . The main trail is actually a wooden pathway, which makes it manageable for those with mobility concerns. The bad: Many of us on the tour noted that we'd rather spend more time at the Woods and skip Sausalito. The hour and 15 minutes went by so quickly and those who walked the longest trail sprinted to get back on time. I'd prefer a trip that used the time spent in Sausalito at Muir Woods. Keep the drop off in Sausalito for those who want to spend time there and catch the ferry back. The ugly: Representatives from both companies were very helpful in resolving the problem, but there was a major communication snafu when we were shuffled to another tour company (gray line) when the original tour was canceled. This would have been fine except gray line was told we would be on the 8 a.m tour and we were told we were on the 11 am tour, which had been sold out for several days. Luckily, there were no shows for the 11 tour and we got to go.

This is a very peaceful place to visit. The trees are mesmerizing and awesome. There are many nice easy walks. Worth the price.
