Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview
This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

How could 2.5 hours be more filled with education, experience, exhilaration, and inspiration?? Iditarod Champions all around us; a 1049 mile trek with incredible grit, strategy, planning and preparation. This mush and animal engagement experience was truly deeply impactful. Anja and Magda were superstar hosts and resident experts. We learned SO much while actually being part of the training of the dogs with a mush run (incredible!!). Added to this, we helped socialize the new pups (completely ingratiating ourselves while mom looked on!!). I mean, suggest a more memorable day spent understanding a thoroughly Alaskan tradition. This was a 6 star experience not to be missed!!

Our tour guide Chad was amazing. We learned so much about the Iditarod race. The dogs were awesome, so friendly. And we had door to door service from our hotel so no need to arrange for a ride.

We were at the kennel in winter and so experienced the thrill of mushing a team through a beautiful snow filled forest. These dogs are champions and live to run! Happily they also put up with we novice drivers! It was as very interesting to learn so much of what goes into raising champion sled dogs. It was fun to be able to interact with the dogs and cuddle the pups. This kennel is beautifully maintained and the dogs are obviously loved and well cared for by all their handlers. We had a wonderful adventure.
