Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview
This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

This was THE best experience. We got to have a championship dog on are team and future Iditarod runners for this year. All of the dogs are so cute and friendly! The puppies were also so awesome to play with. Learned so much and was such a fun adventure. Leddie and Sean were the best! Will be back again for a winter tour!

What an incredible experience at AK Sled Dog Tours! it was such a fun, and educational experience to learn more about the sport and the work they do there, including the care of the most important teammates in the dogs. Meeting the doggos was so fun, all with their respective personalities. You can tell the dogs are loved and valued based on the care they receive. Driving our own (dry land) sled was another major highlight, albeit slightly terrify for my wife... :) Would absolutely recommend if you find yourself in (or near) Talkeetna. One of the top activities of our AK trip!

The build up to take off is something else, right? So much excitement then take off and silence through the beautiful forest.

Great customer service, very educational. Chad was an awesome guide. They treat the dogs so well. These are experts in their field. They worked with us last minute after weather cancellation for a tour in a different town. Call them you will not regret it.
