Great experience learning a little bit about what it takes to mush a sled dog team and partake in the peacefulness and fun of leading a team yourself! Very knowledgeable and decorated individuals in the sport to lead the tour and teach.

This tour is one of the best ways to see the art and passion behind dog mushing. Isaac was our guide and you could tell by his passion and love of mushing that he enjoyed it. He was very informative on the sport and care and good treatment of the dogs as well as the history of Seavy racing in the Iditarod. We were picked up in Talkeetna and driven to the Kennel where we were offered winter gear if needed and then given a briefing on how to conduct yourself on running a dog team. We then were put on our sled, 1 as a passenger and 1 as a driver and then took off on the trails around the kennel. Isaac was in the front with his team and we followed him. Halfway through we switched drivers and continued on. After that we returned to the Kennel where we were shown around to the different dog groups, ending with the puppies who were released into their playpen where we go to play with them. After that, we were driven back to Talkeetna. We would do this tour again in a heart beat and can't wait to take family members to it when they visit.
