Isaac and the rest of the crew were very informative, friendly, and were true dog lovers! Great experience mushing through the trails! Was great to meet Iditarod champions and tour the entire layout of the kennel. No need to worry about being cold, they will provide you with enough gear to enjoy the experience! Great group of people!

Our group consisted of myself, two adult daughters, and son-in-law. We had the most amazing, fun time. The staff members were great, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The Seavey dog compound is top notch. The pups are so well cared for, no detail overlooked. I hope to return year after year. Hat’s off to the entire team and all the pups!

This is definitely a must do experience if the within driving distance of Talkeetna. The whole experience was great from start to finish. Got picked up on time from the Talkeetna Roadhouse by their van, taken to their kennels. They helped us suit up, providing extra snow gear where they could to those of us who didn't have proper apparel. They have some awesome snow shoes that fit over your shoes that keep your feet nice and toastie as well as provide some hand warmers to keep in your gloves if you need it. We had a quick, but precise how to class on using the dog sleds (braking, turning, hanging on, etc). Then off to the dog teams. The teams that we were given had retired Iditarod champions, amazingly trained and still ready to run out to the trails. My sled had two dogs that had won a Iditarod each and two more dogs that had won two Iditarods each. Although my favorite dog of my team was Oats, a dog that had not been apart of an Iditarod but helped with training other dogs. My husband and I both had a chance to act as the musher and as a rider in the sled. With our guide Elliot as the leader making sure everyone stayed at a steady speed. After our ride we got to meet some of the other dogs at the kennel and learn about their breeding and how they get their names. We were also allowed to play with the 8 week and 4 month old puppies. I wish our experience could have lasted five times longer, but all great things come to a end. We finished off with some hot cocoa and hot cider. Right before we were taken back to Talkeetna we were also lucky enough to get to watch the dog teams that were in training for the Iditarod take off for their 20-30mile training run. Overall I would recommend this experience for any and everyone. It is a bit pricey, but I think it is worth every penny! Thank you for such a amazing memory and time!
