We visited on June 1st. It's a good museum that really shows the history of the music industry in Nashville and the south in general. Emphasis is on blues, country, and rock and roll because that's what was done mostly. Shows all aspects of how music is made and how a record is produced. Covers studio musicians, record producing, instruments, recording technology and of course the stars. Lots of them and lots of memorabilia from many famous ones including Johnny Cash, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and many more. There are several hands on exhibits with various instruments and karioke opportunities that older kids would enjoy a lot. We enjoyed the visit though it was easy to get disoriented among the exhibits. My suggestion is use the provided map to optimize your time.

This museum was so much more extensive than we expected with exhibits on all types of music and musicians throughout the decades. Well-known artists are highlighted but also the behind-the-scenes songwriters, instrumentalists and producers. There are fascinating exhibits on everyone from Johnny Cash to Jimi Hendrix as well as on Muscle Shoals, SUN Studio and STAX with lots of the actual instruments and recording equipment used. For those musically inclined, you can use interactive stages and sound equipment to create your own recordings. There's an interesting Grammy museum gallery, the actual Enactron mobile studio, and so much more! Allow at least two hours here, but one could spend an entire day viewing the exhibits and being creative!

LOVED this place!!! My friends and I spent 4 hours in museum. We must of spent 2 1/2 hrs just playing instruments, singing, and mixing beats. Staff was friendly, place was very clean. The displays were well done.
