Myrtle Beach Military History Trolley Tour

Overview
The trolley tour takes guests around the Market Common District in Myrtle Beach that was once the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base and an Army Air Corps airfield during WWII which also housed a German POW camp. It makes three stops at Warbird Park where military planes are on static display, the Gen. Robert H. Reed Rec. Center which has a small military museum, and the Norton General Aviation Terminal that displays military memorabilia. Guests are divided into two groups with each half enjoying a catered reception and historical presentation at Tupelo Honey either before or after the trolley portion of the tour. This tour was recognized by the local county's board of historic preservation. The talk at the reception will be given by a historic figure who helped shape the history of the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. The trolley is enclosed and climate-controlled. The whole trip was excellent. Katherine was so friendly, very knowledgeable. She really enjoys her job, very enthusiastic. The veteran was just wonderful. This was the 2nd time we went on this military tour. We all recommend not only veterans but non-vets to learn and appreciate what they did for all of us. Thank you. Also a special thank you to our trolley driver.

It means the world to know that you and especially your father enjoyed this tour. I like to think of our guest speaker who was the last man to leave the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base when it closed in 1993, and who flew the A-10 in Desert Storm which is on static display in Warbird Park, as a living legend as well as being an engaging and informative presenter. It was an honor to have you aboard and I look forward to seeing you on the other tours. Thank you.
