Awesome. We were picked up at Dillard’s in Myrtle Beach. Nice bus, great driver who drove us to Charleston and gave interesting tidbits of information along the route. We had an hour horse drawn carriage ride through Charleston by a very well informed tour guide. 45 minutes in unique city market then bus took us to harbor for a beautiful Harbor Tour with a great guide, good boxed lunch, then on the bus to Boone Plantation. Great ride back to Myrtle Beach. 7 am-5:30 pm. Well worth the price and no driving hassle or scheduling issues if you had done it on your own.

My partner and I experienced this tour just yesterday. It wasn't on our radar when we planned our trip to Myrtle Beach, but we saw it on a list of recommended activities on Trip Advisor and booked the trip just before we left home. So very glad we did. We departed Myrtle Beach at 7 am and around two hours later arrived to meet our horse drawn carriages. The tour or the old town area while too short, was packed with information and visual delights. I'm a sucker for history and our guide supplied it along with a great deal of humor. At the end of the tour we had a little time to walk around a bit before we met our bus and were taken to the waterfront where we joined others for a tour of the harbor and yet more wonderful views and stories of years gone by, and again with humor. My thrill was sailing very close to Fort Sumpter, a very large piece of history related to our country. (A great box lunch was included with our tour, and how wonderful it was to enjoy it under the sun and so much beauty.) Our last stop was at the Boone Plantation. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the drive through moss draped live oaks set my expectations high. It was exactly what I hoped I would see. (I'm a Pacific Northwest native and this was right out of Gone With the Wind.) I learned the history of the property, the stories of previous owners and that the plantation is still producing goods in addition to the tourism factor. Nearly seven hours later we returned to our cars, tired, but very glad to have taken this tour. We plan to return on our own in a couple of days to explore furtner.
