This is probably a must-do when you visit Kauai. The Holo Holo staff made what would at minimum be a terrific experience an outstanding one. They were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. Our youngest got seasick and leapt to help and kept checking on him. The food, for being pre-made for a boat cruise, was surprisingly good. Be aware: you spend a lot of time on the boat. Not necessarily a bad thing as the coastline is spectacular. But several people on our bot either got sick or felt queasy. It happens, but just be aware. Snorkeling: for people looking for a vibrant, colorful reef teeming with fish as seen on TV, perhaps, this isn’t it. As far as I can tell, Kauai reefs in general have experienced bleaching and degrading in recent years, although it looks like there’s been improvements lately. Boat staff did say Kauai reefs are in worse shape than on other islands. Nevertheless, the snorkeling is still fun and our kids enjoyed jumping off the boat and going down slide while we were moored. Still, the experience on the boat more than compensated for any letdown some folks may have had about snorkeling. Stunning views. An overall excellent experience and Holo Holo helped make it that way.

This was easily the highlight of our trip to Kauai! Captain Dave and crew members were super friendly and accomodating. The views were absolutely gorgeous and it was awesome to have both breakfast and lunch on board as well as complimentary drinks. There wasn't a ton of sea life around when we snorkeled, so I would plan for better snorkeling elsewhere. But the boat tour itself was just incredible, worth every penny. It was a little rough getting back, definitely take some Dramamine if you're prone to motion sickness.
