Hop aboard a replica of a historic San Francisco cable car and enjoy endless unobstructed views of vineyard-dotted hills on this special wine-tasting adventure. Visit three - four wineries for tastings, and learn all about Napa’s history and wine from your friendly and knowledgeable guide. Enjoy lunch at one of the stops either outside among the vines are in a cave. Winery stops change periodically.

What To Expect

Oxbow Public Market

You’ll be picked up at Napa’s Oxbow Market in the late morning for a 6-hour tour on the Napa Valley Wine Trolley, an open-air vehicle modeled after a historic 1890s San Francisco cable car. Enjoy the wind in your air as you take in the beautiful sights and smells of Napa wine country. Your friendly, knowledgeable guide will keep you entertained with commentary and stories about Napa’s history and wine culture.

Napa Valley

Visit three or four family-owned Napa Valley wineries for private wine-tasting sessions. Your hosts will explain the different varietals you taste and give you a background on the wineries (wine-tasting fees are not included; fees range between USD$25 and $40). Stop for lunch catered by Ottimo, award winning Chef Michael Chiarello's Italian Eatery and tasting room. Enjoy gourmet sandwiches, side salads, and desserts. All served family style! You’ll have plenty of wonderful photo opportunities throughout your tour, and your guide will be happy to take a photo of your group so you can document your memorable day in wine country. At the end of the day, you’ll be taken back to Oxbow Market – there are plenty of delicious dining options here if you’d like to have dinner after your tour.

My husband and I took this tour last week. As other reviewers have said in addition to the cost you must pay around $30 for each tasting . As we had to drive after the tour we hoped to only complete the tasting at a couple of the vineyards but in reality this was not an option as you had to hang about whilst others did the tasting, there is nothing else to see. The vineyards would let you share a tasting glass which was good. A vineyard tour is only included at one of the winery’s and the guise was excellent but at the other 3 it is purely wine tasting of 4 different wines. We had hoped the trolley tour would be a nice way to amble through the Napa valley but it in fact it tears along at about 50 miles per hour - be prepared to be thoroughly windswept

Thank you for your reviews. The Napa Valley Wine Trolley takes you on a wine tour of a world famous wine region. If you are not interested in tasting wine at a winery its made at then this would not be the tour for you. There is no obligation to taste wine at the winery. While ridding on the Trolley it may seem fast and windy because the trolley is an open air experience. We do have the inside compartment available for those that would rather not have the wind though their hair. The trolley is a replica of the SF cable car, we can only go max speeds of 40mph on the main roads.

We enjoyed this trip so much -- thank you! It was a more reasonably priced option so we prepared for it to feel a bit more basic but we had a fabulous day - good lunch, good value, great fun.

If I had to suggest one tour to go on while in Napa, this is the tour to take! The trolley had several different pickup/dropoff spots to choose from in downtown Napa. We then visited four different wineries and had gourmet sandwiches for lunch where we ate in the outside patio area of one of the vineyards. Tasting prices were an additional fee. Our tour guide Dylan was awesome as well! Very entertaining and kept everyone on schedule. Definitely a big recommendation to anyone in the area.
