Our first time visiting Savannah turned out to be nerve wrecking. We arranged for our family group of 10 to be picked up at our hotel on Saturday July 21st at 11:00am. Due to the fact that I have 2 elderly parents who are disabled and we needed the trolley that had the handicap lift to board the trolley. Once aboard, Dad transferred to a seat and Mom remained in her motorized scooter. Our driver, Author, took wide swing turns with very little slowing down; slinging us across our seats; purses flying across the floor. Proceeded to hop on the interstate, driving so fast that when hitting dips in the road the trolley started a swaying/fishtailing. we're yelling for him to slow down. We just knew that we are going to flip over at any moment. I'm holding on to Mom, who is not secured in her scooter, trying to help Dad to stay position in his seat. So much highway wind in our faces that we can barely keep our eyes open. Our hotel was in Midtown, but I'm sure that there was a better route to take to get to downtown without nearly giving us all heart attacks. My parents were quite shaken up over this ordeal and couldn't enjoy the tour once we arrived downtown. Author didn't drive any better on our return to our hotel either.
