What To Expect

Old Savannah Tours

Trolleys operate on a 20-minute pickup schedule from 9:00am to 4:30pm for your convenience. Find a seat and begin your 1.5-hour tour of the history of Savannah. Listen to your guide recount more than 270 years of American history. Enjoy the narration as you ride through one of the largest National Urban Historic Landmarked Districts in the United States. Ride on cobblestone streets and in the shade of moss-draped oaks. See stately mansions, beautiful squares, and romantic views of the river. Learn about the Old South on this easy-going, fun tour of Savannah.

We arrived at the welcome center/ticket office about 1:30pm after already seeing Bonaventure Cemetery and eating at the Pirate's House. We were told that there probably wouldn't be time to take advantage of the hop on-hop off, and so we bought the slightly cheaper "overview" tour. It was a cold day, and so the plastic windows were lowered, which kept the trolley warmer but which impaired the views a little bit. The tour guide was pretty good and informative. At two places, character actors boarded the trolley and gave us some fun information (Forrest Gump, and a pirate). The traffic was absolutely horrible near the Financial District (literally a stand-still), and so it took quite a bit longer than anticipated to complete the tour. No bathrooms/restrooms on the trolleys.

I have taken this tour for several years now, along with friends and family, I love it! It's a great way to see and learn about the history of this remarkable historic town. I also love the characters that they have now incorporated into their tours, they are Awesome and make the tour so much more enjoyable. So if you get a chance go by and talk with my good friend Andrea Albino, she will take good care of ya and make ya'll feel welcomed.
