What To Expect

Ole Smoky Distillery & Yee-Haw Brewery

We begin and end the tour here. The leading craft distiller of Moonshine and home of the world’s most visited distillery has expanded their presence in Tennessee by joining forces with Yee Haw Brewing Company, one of Tennessee’s top craft breweries, to collectively open a complex in Nashville’s burgeoning area of SoBro. 6th & Peabody will feature a distillery, brewery, bars, tasting areas, beer & bottle shops, merchandise, big screen TVs and live entertainment. Visitors enjoy moonshine, cocktails, and beer by the glass, food, as well as purchase jars of moonshine and bottled beer for enjoyment at home. Spend as much time here before and after the tour as you wish.

Little John and Rusty were wonderful on this tour of Nashville that highlighted the different neighborhoods and the history of all music in Nashville. We made a stop at a bar for drink and live music. I would recommend if you want to see more of Nashville.

Generally speaking, this tour is fine, it takes passengers to some great spots for photos (particularly the bridge) and the bar where we disembarked for a drink and some music was fun. As someone who really doesn't get into country music, I appreciated the drive down music row in particular because the guide was able to explain to us the significance of many of the buildings (who recorded at the studios, famous agents that operate out of the offices there, etc). Unfortunately for some passengers, your ability to take pictures of half of the sights is limited depending on traffic and what side of the bus you're seated on -- I recommend going for a seat on the left (behind the driver). Anyway, overall it was mostly worth the money. But a note about my experience-- I'm a youngish woman who took this trolley by myself. The guide, Bert (I think) was obviously very knowledgeable, and a bit uhm, "extra" (tried to lead the passengers in song throughout the tour, etc), which was fine. Most of the other passengers were middle aged couples who had been drinking, so it felt a little like a party bus at times, which again, is ok. However, the bus driver made me increasingly uncomfortable throughout the tour by watching me in his rearview and insisting I take his hand when I stepped on and off the bus (which at first I thought was nice but after awhile it turned awkward). This progressed to him pressing my lower back (way low) as I walked to my seat (wildly unnecessary) and then, when I got off the bus at the conclusion of the tour, he again took my hand and as I said "thanks" and started to walk away, he WOULD NOT RELEASE MY HAND. I had to turn back to listen to him "apologize" for having to seat me with a trio of younger guys (who were all gentlemanly, sweet and attractive dudes from Manchester, so hardly an inconvenience for me), all the while with him still holding on to my hand. I had to yank free. I'm sure this dude thought he was being chivalrous or that we had a bond or something, but unfortunately my discomfort with his totally uncalled for touchiness is what lingers from this tour. Shame, because the security of taking a tour bus was very appealing for a woman traveling alone who wanted to see the city at night.

Christie Lee has tremendous energy, is a great story teller and ... um, has a colorful local history. She was great and made the tour around town very entertaining and informative. Great way to see the city.
