What To Expect

Marathon Village

Serving as a model for adaptive re-purposing of historic structures, Marathon Village has become a diverse destination where artists, performers, designers, business professionals, and inventors co-exist. They have a first-floor retail experience like no other that includes flagship stores from the History Channels’ American Pickers to legendary whiskey makers, Jack Daniels. In addition to shopping, they have a Marathon Motor Works museum showcasing five of the remaining eight Marathon vehicles located in the original MMW showroom. Shops typically close around 5pm.

The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville honors all musicians regardless of genre or instrument. The MHOF timeline starts with the beginning of recorded music and inductees are nominated by current members of the American Federation of Musicians and by other music industry professionals.

The host Janelle and our bus driver were great. Janelle was very knowledgeable and did a great job telling us about the city and its music history, played some singalong recorded music, and played her guitar to accompany her singing to us as well. It was very cold, so the plastic curtain windows were up, and they looked like they had not been cleaned in recent history, if ever. Very dirty plastic made it impossible to see well or take pictures. I know the curtains were needed, but they should have been given a bath. I strongly encourage you to take this tour but do it in nice weather when the windows can be open. Our bus was full, and the interaction was lots of fun.
