I had visited Nashville before and enjoyed the Hop on/off Trolley Tour during the day. Returning with family/friends I thought the evening tour might be a fun way to introduce them to the city. The tour guide, Bert with an E, was a bit brusque and seemed more focused on singing than on what his guests might enjoy. We visited a club where the band was packing up and waited to hear one song by another band. The highlight was the view from the pedestrian bridge. Overall disappointing.

We took the "Soul of Music City Night Tour" and it was fantastic. Our hostess what Miss Sherri Lee and our driver was Dean. They made the night so much fun. Miss Sherri Lee is adorable and funny and has a fantastic singing voice. She's also lived her entire life in Nashville and knows it as only a native can. Her knowledge coupled with her fun disposition made the tour extra special. We saw so many landmarks, or saw the spots where they had been. Nashville is so much more than very talented people singing covers up and down Broadway, and she showed us what there was. We learned history of the state house, of parks, of statues, of recording studios---it was amazing. In the middle of the tour - and included in the admission price - is a stop at a local bar for a drink. We stopped at The Local, and it could not have been more fun. There was a folk duo singing when we arrived, and they were great. We stopped for about 30 minutes, had our drinks, then continued the tour. We were on the 7:45, which didn't wrap until close to 10. I would absolutely not recommend this for children. We sang, we laughed (lots!), we learned, and we saw Nashville that we can't see during the day just roaming around. I would recommend this tour for anyone looking to see sights away from Broadway and downtown. I cannot wait to take it again on my next visit...I'll be asking for Miss Sherri Lee!!
