National Corvette Museum
The National Corvette Museum is a showcase to America's sports car.  Start your tour with a short film about the history of the Corvette and the Corvette Museum.  As you walk though the museum you'll see exhibits featuring over 70 Corvettes in periodic settings including a mid-century barbershop, service station and dealership.  You'll see Corvette prototypes, one-of-kind cars, and racing champs.  Enjoy hands-on activities in KidZone , trivia kiosks, and the "Corvette Cave In” exhibit.  This exhibit takes visitors back to the early morning hours of February 12, 2014 when the earth opened up inside the Museum’s Skydome, swallowing the classic Corvettes.  The Museum's Skydome offers a glimpse of the size and depth of the sinkhole as well as the retrieved Corvettes. Guests are also invited to try a Corvette on for size in the lobby. The Corvette Store offers apparel, collectibles, home and gift items.  An on-site 50's-inspired Corvette Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.

This place was so incredible. It is laid out in such a way that you can see how these amazing vehicles evolved. The displays were made to look like an old gas station, an old office of a car dealership etc and this just added something to the tour. There was an area for kids and a display with all vehicles that have run on Corvette power. My husband had seen a documentary on the sink hole and was delighted with being able to see that in person.

Walking into the Corvette Museum I noticed my heart was racing ( in anticipation of seeing Corvette racing?). Loved so many of the 50’s and 60’s Vettes, especially the 1972 Vette- I almost bought one in 1964 when I graduated from college. Always regret I didn’t! Bought a 1985 Vette in 1995 which I had for about 10 years. Loved it. Very impressed with the layout and stories of the different generations of Corvettes. I love learning more about the progress and development of all Corvettes. Only wish I could own one now!

I love the older style vets, as my photos tell. Really it is a place for those who love cars. Sorry, to say, it is just not for kids. I observed so many bored children. If you are into cars, it is your place.
