What To Expect

National Corvette Museum

The National Corvette Museum is a showcase to America's sports car. Start your tour with a short film about the history of the Corvette and the Corvette Museum. As you walk though the museum you'll see exhibits featuring over 70 Corvettes in periodic settings including a mid-century barbershop, service station and dealership. You'll see Corvette prototypes, one-of-kind cars, and racing champs. Enjoy hands-on activities in KidZone , trivia kiosks, and the "Corvette Cave In” exhibit. This exhibit takes visitors back to the early morning hours of February 12, 2014 when the earth opened up inside the Museum’s Skydome, swallowing the classic Corvettes. The Museum's Skydome offers a glimpse of the size and depth of the sinkhole as well as the retrieved Corvettes. Guests are also invited to try a Corvette on for size in the lobby. The Corvette Store offers apparel, collectibles, home and gift items. An on-site 50's-inspired Corvette Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.

We stumbled upon this on an impromptu drive from Nashville to "Kentucky". We were enticed by road signs on the highway and when we saw the building, we knew we had to go in. We are not car enthusiasts, but found the exhibits fascinating. The video presentation was informative and the variety and quality of cars was exceptional. The information regarding the sinkhole incident was amazing -- we are both in the insurance business and found it fascinating. My partner enjoyed the race track driving simluator, which was a bargain at $10. Admission was $12, which we though was very fair. We would highly recommend for folks of all ages.

It was not crowded on a Sunday. We drove up from Nashville. A little lackluster considering that the Corvette is a supercar. I expected a bit more history and glamour.

We were there in time for the tour. Great guide and great information. My 8 year old loved all the cars.
