Overview

The Kenai Fjords National Park Tour with a stop on Fox Island will take you to Kenai Fjords National Park, home to abundant wildlife, alpine and tidewater glaciers and breathtaking scenery. On this 8.5-hour cruise we also visit the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, home to a large variety of whales, seabirds, stellar sea lions, sea otters and more. Lunch is included and will be served on board. For dinner, you’ll stop at our private lodge on Fox Island for seated dinner in our exclusive dining lodge.

Kenai Fjords Tours is pleased to welcome you to picturesque Fox Island, in the heart of Resurrection Bay. Your exploration of Kenai Fjords National Park is enhanced by a chance to step off the boat, stroll the beach and explore on land. This island is rich in inspiration and character. Once you arrive at Fox Island, head in to our cozy Day Lodge for a sumptuous meal of crab cakes, salads and rolls, which are included in your tour.

Kenai Fjords National Park

In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.

Overall a good experience. I did a split trip to Alaska and drove from anchorage. The full day cruise was fun but I couldn’t truly enjoy it because the boat was so crowded so it was hard to get a good seat and take pictures because so many people were blocking the views. My boat was the Tanina and the captain, Greg, was amazingly knowledgeable. Sharing details about animals from size to small details on fins and he spotted a lot of wildlife for us (seals, killer whale, beluga whale, birds, bear). Overall a solid experience but going forward they should either get a bigger boat or, reduce the number of reservations available to maximize enjoyment. Idk if private tours are a thing but I’d def recommend looking into that instead.

Amazing trip. The staff was great! This trip was very enjoyable, well worth doing! We did an all day cruse with lunch and dinner.

Went for Kenjai boat tour, started at 10. Immediately saw hump back wheals followed by Orcas, black oyster catcher, nest of bald eagle, Porpus wheals playing around the boat, seals and sea lions. Also went and saw Holgate and Aialik glaciers , We ended up holding glacier ice. Had very close view of glaciers. One of the glacier was one mile wide , on the way back we saw small glacier like surprise glacier. Saw Lolu wheal and her cub. We stopped at fox island for dinner and played at the beach. Overall very good experience. We are vegetarian and they provided food to accommodate that.. crew was very nice and knowledgeable.
