We had the luxury of having a tour with just the two of us and Kristi. The communication from DK the day before was helpful as they warned us that they may have to switch the tour location due to lack of participation. To the credit of DK they honored the tour we chose. My only criticism of the tour is that we did not walk much. It was difficult to eat and drink, then 5 feet later, eat and drink again. With 3 hours it might be better to have one less stop and walk more. Kristi was great as I feel she tried to answer our questions about New Orleans in a diplomatic, yet truthful manner. We needed a break from the French Quarter and this provided a break from the status quo of things we had done on our last trip to NOLA. Because of the intimacy of the tour we certainly directed the conversation. The history and perspective on gentrification would be important to include. The restaurants we accommodating and the food was great. We have found that most tour guides are not originally from the area. It was nice to hear what brought Kristi to NOLA and her experiences acclimating to living outside of mainstream/tourist ridden areas. We took a cab to our meeting location and Kristi recommended we take the streetcar back which was a great idea. The tour did what it should, as when we make our next rip to NOLA, we will certainly spend more time in this area exploring all it has to offer.

Dear Brooke R, Glad you enjoyed Kristi and the Freret neighborhood , it is a post Katrina success story packed with foodie delights ( that we locals love ) all within 9 blocks. DK enjoys highlighting historic gems other than the FQ ( 9 million visitors annually ) so always be on the lookout for new tours. In the meantime keep exploring New Orleans by foot, street car and bicycle! Kindest regards,

My husband and I took this tour with Kristi and we had a blast! Kristi was knowledgeable on the food and gave us great tips as to what to check out while in town. The food itself was absolutely delicious! We got big enough portions where it left us satisfied but small enough that it allowed us to enjoy everything the tour had to offer. The drinks were delicious and gave us a taste of different beers, cocktails and wine. I’m usually a cocktail person, but I enjoyed the beers and I enjoyed listening to Kristi explain the difference between each drink we were experiencing. I cannot express enough how delicious the food was! Definitely a must if you’re visiting New Orleans and want a taste of their Cajun cuisine.

Kristi our guide was fantastic, answered all of our questions and gave us a ton of history about the area. She also gave great places to book reservations for the rest of our stay. Food was fantastic, drinks were good and she made the tour so fun. I originally booked the french quarter tour, but that needed to be canceled, so instead we did the Freret one and so glad we did! We wouldn't have been to that area at all and the food stops were fantastic. Very informative, helpful and extremely tasty!
