This charming neighborhood has many businesses worth perusing, which should be included in each visit to New Orleans that you make. I had the opportunity to to enjoy the Funky Freret Street Foodie and Cocktail Tour on 2/17 with family. From start to finish, the tour was fun and delicious. Lisa was our guide and she was outstanding. In addition to knowing Freret Street, she is a New Orleans expert, full of a wealth of information and passion for the city. After the tour, we felt the need to come back for lunch the next day to hit up one of the restaurants not on the tour. In addition to the fun time, great cocktails, and delicious food, it was great to see a different part of the city. I would highly suggest you take the time to take this funky tour that will provide you with more food than you can eat. We left with "to go" containers from several stops and relived the tour through breakfast.

Chef Laurent was along as an intern--we want him for our next tour. Although he was very careful not to upstage Brittany, he obviously had a wealth of culinary knowledge to share. Great locally sourced food. Top quality and generous portions at all stops. Alligator sausage and crisp Abita beer, boudin and great local ale, malted milk with maple syrup and cracklings with pimento cheese, wood fired pizza and red wine, gelato and hand crafted espresso, pork infused bourbon and hand pies , and nibbles with a cocktail of choice. Wonderful conversation. An all around good time.
