You will be introduced to your captain and briefed quickly on procedure inside of the Airboat. Once everyone in the group is prepared to take off you captain will rev the engine. This particular airport is powered by a 454 Chevy Engine that's capable of accelerating to speeds as high as 35 miles per hour. The boat is propelled by a large fan behind the boat which can deliver wind speeds of over 200 miles per hour. This tour is fast and loud! Your tour guide will bring you from location to location around the swamp and make frequent stops for you to have encounters with the wildlife. Chances are you'll probably have some reptilian visitors. The alligators have no problems making their way to the side of the boat and showing off for the visitors. After the tour of the swamp is complete you will be returned to the original departure location to make your way back to New Orleans.

Captain Jason was beyond words great and is a true professional and nature lover - we loved that he really took the time to explain the different habitats we drove through (swamp, marsh, lake,ā€¦) and the ecological (sad and very concerning) impacts due to different events and reasons, as well as explaining the different species in a very detailed, professional and loving way. We appreciated also that he didnā€™t disturb the wildlife although, we had a blast, riding the airboat! Absolute must-do in Louisiana/NOLA!! Thank you, Captain Jasonā€¦thank you also for your humour - this was a perfect experience!

This would have been a five star if it didnā€™t rain while out exploring. Rain at 42mph hurts. You will definitely need wet weather gear and glasses if you ride with Jason. He is fun and very knowledgeable and passionate about the area and saving it.

My first time in an airboat. Experiencing this part of nature and the way plants contribute to its survival. It was cold for New Orleans and that took away from the experience. I had also hoped for more of the history of this area. At the same time it was enjoyable and a wonderful experience.
