Celebrations Tour was recommended by the concierge at my hotel. Oz, our guide, gave a great overview of the city, covering more territory and neighborhoods in a small van than I could ever cover by foot. We crisscrossed the French Quarter and the 9th ward, where the residents waved & greeted Oz by name. Oz pointed out a section of canal wall which had collapsed during Katrina, causing major flooding in the neighborhoods. We saw the shores of Lake Pontchartrain before visiting Metairie Cemetery, where Oz drove past elaborate vaults and explained the burial customs unique to New Orleans. We saw Tulane & Loyola Universities, as well as the lovely antebellum homes of the Garden District. This tour was very personal and provided a great introduction to New Orleans. Thank you Oz!

We had only a few hours to fit a tour of New Orleans into our schedule. Due to our flight time we were not sure we could get to the French Quarter in time for the 2:00 tour that many companies offered. Oz, the owner of Celebration Tours was very helpful, accomodating and flexible. He offered to provide a separate driver to give us a personal tour in case we were late. I was to call him from the airport after we landed and give him an idea of what time he could expect us. As it turned out we did make the 2:00 tour. Oz went ahead and picked up several other couples at their hotels first. By that time we had made our way to Cafe du Monde where we had agreed that Oz would pick us up. The tour was amazing! He took us to every section of New Orleans and was a wealth of information. Our tour lasted over 3 hours! We stopped halfway through at a rest area in a park to get an ice cream and use the restroom. We were so grateful that Oz went out of his way to make sure we had the opportunity to learn about his city. He was so happy to share it with us. Great tour!!!
