Doug was AMAZING! I’m not a fan of the sensationalized info you get on a lot of these. Honestly the history is usually crazy enough. Doug does a great job of giving you the history, the intersection of the different magical influences in the city, and how all of it comes together. It was truly a one of a kind tour and I would do it anytime I come to the city.

This was our first trip to NOLA and wanted to do and see all the things. Many tours didn't offer what this one does at a reasonable price. I booked online and made sure to double check at the store what time to show up for the tour. We got 7pm tour on a Sunday. We showed up just a little after 6:30 pm and checked in at the front desk at HEX. Then we stood outside and waited for Doug. Doug arrived within minutes. After a few introductions and letting him know that I was hard of hearing we started on our very small tour of just my group. Doug started out with some background about the tour and some of the readers at HEX. He gave a history story and we proceeded on. Doug took us to one of his favorite bars and then we proceeded on with the tour. He was filled with information and you could really tell that Doug truly loved what he was talking about. After some time we stopped at another favorite local bar and then proceeded on. Doug told stories of magical and mystical side of NOLA that you just don't get anywhere else. Doug answered all our questions and shared pictures that were taken by previous tour guests. Doug was personable and was truly concerned that I could hear him. Which by the way I could. He made sure that he accommodated my disability with visible ease. Doug asked permission to share with me photos that he showed us and links for more info. I was happy to give permission. At the end of the tour we opted to do the spell at the end. It is optional. The garden where you go seems like you step into a bubble where you don't hear the city that you know surrounds you. The next day, Doug sent me all the things he promised. I am delighted to dive in and do more research on all the information he gave us. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone that wants to know more of the magic behind the city. This tour made me want to come back and explore more! Doug is AWESOME!

Doug our tour guide was amazing! Perfect balance of history and spookie-oookie tales. Our group was smaller but that’s made it better! I’ve been on some tours that are so full it’s hard to keep up and enjoy, by far the favorite tour I took(of 3). I even caught a creepy face in a photo, thanks Doug!
