It was a once in a lifetime experience watching gators so close to you. Our bus driver and our boat tour guide both were sweet and knowledgeable, gave us a lot of info on New Orleans in general and abt the Swamp and its ecosystem in particular. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

Eco-tourism done right! You get to see (mostly) wild animals in their natural habitat going about their business: raccoons (partially domesticated through feeding by tour guides), wild piiiiiiigs!!! (if they show up), laid back alligators of all sizes, and a number of beautiful bird species. We went early December (in unusually warm low 70s) and the gators were still active. If you get a chance to hold a baby alligator after the tour, go for it!

This was a really great tour all around. Derek our bus driver was very informative and made the 46 minute drive to the swamp go fast. We got some good tips and restaurant recommendations. We did the small boat tour which ended up being a private tour. Everett our boat captain was awesome. Had rain ponchos and water which came in handy. We didn’t see any gators because it was cloudy and cold but saw some birds and a huge family of raccoons! The gift shop had some sweatshirts thank goodness because we were underdressed for the weather.
