Our guide, Astrid, was amazing. Her wealth of knowledge of the area and the numerous communities, the history of the area was wonderful. She was the best part of the tour! There are a couple of items that we believe the tour company could do to improve the experience for the guests...thus the 4 rather than 5 rating. The day of our tour was incredibly hot. We walked significantly long distances. We were not given bottles of water--which have always been part of one of our tours. Nor were we given a clear opportunity to purchase water. Bathrooms were few and far between. Rests were momentary at the food stops. As I compare the food experiences of other food tours, I would say that the food, while mostly excellent, was certainly less in quantity than other tours. This was more of a culture tour with some food than a food tour with some culture. Our final stop at a German restaurant offered us a rather stale "soft pretzel" (we do not eat pork) rather than the wurst offered to meat eaters. The food tours are rather expensive and we therefore hoped for somewhat better. Still, the tour was very enjoyable and we are glad for the experience.
