Food was ok if you don't mind your hot food cold, entertainment consisted of getting people to line dance, and it took 45 minutes to get a drink.

The cruise was on a lovely big boat, which went from an interesting old part of the riverfront. Everything was well organised and the sights from the deck and the windows below decks were just as we expected and hoped for. However, there were 2 major negatives as far as we pensioners were concerned. After dark it was too cold to stay on the deck and see everything from there. This was really only a problem because there was nowhere on any indoor deck to get away from the loud disco music. If you like that kind of racket, it would not be a problem for you. Our young waiter was a good guy, working hard and being helpful. The buffet dinner was OK, but just OK. I was in the early tranche of folks to be served and even early on the salmon was overcooked, tasteless and dry. I can't remember anything else about the meal. The carvery joints looked good and wished I had chosen that option. Go for the scenery, not for the food. Just one other word, Everyone we asked assured us that there would be ranks of taxis waiting on the quay to take us pilgrims back to the city centre. The cabs on the quay were seriously expensive limos, not yellow cabs. But for the help of a local couple of fellow travellers, we would have been struggling. It was a scary part of town for 2 old ladies to be adrift. We got a yellow cab after walking over to 10th Avenue but nobody tells you that you have to do this. In spite of the negatives, I am glad to have done the trip, the river at night is something else.
