New York Dyker Heights Christmas Lights

Overview
Nothing says Christmas like Dyker Heights, the most famous display of lights on the planet. Locals have been decorating their homes—personally and professionally—since the '80s, making it a true NYC winter wonderland.

THE TOUR WILL TAKE PLACE RAIN or SHINE!

The ride from Midtown to Dyker Heights in Brooklyn is about an hour long on board of our comfortable coach fully heated with a restroom on board.

Your guide will escort you to Lucy Spata's house, the house that started this tradition, and walk you through the most illuminated streets before taking you back to the bus. You will spend about an hour in Dyker Heights strolling around and taking pictures.

The next stop will be at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge in the DUMBO/Brooklyn Heights area of Brooklyn. You will have about 25 minutes to take pictures of the breathtaking Manhattan skyline and the Bridge.

Then you will return to Manhattan via the Manhattan Bridge. The tour ends at the Bryant Park Winter Village.

The tour guide rates better than the tour itself as he is very knowledgeable and respectful; however, due to weather and traffic, you would benefit by providing restrooms on the bus to avoid wasting portions of the tour waiting in line for toilet. The colder the weather the more you toilet. Thanks.

The tour was really nice. The tour guides were good. There should be more time spent in Dyker Heights, at least 1hr. to tour this beautiful neighborhood. We were given 40 minutes but the tour guide said usually they give 30 minutes. 30 minutes is not enough time to see most of the homes.

This is a great tour for the price! Unfortunately, our trip started a little more than a half hour late. So we stood in the cold for about 45 minutes waiting for the bus. Apparently the bus company that is usually used had problems and a bus from another company had to be used and took time to get to our pick up location. But, the tour guide was where we were to be picked up and kept us informed and the pick up place was easy to get to and identify. The tour guide must have been doing this a long time because she knew exactly the roads to travel which is good because the driver was driving in the blind. The tour guide was very friendly and informative about the areas we traveled through. A little more time at Dyker Heights would have been nice as we only had an hour to walk around. Maybe an additional 1/2 hour at least. We stopped underneath the Manhattan Bridge and could see the whole city skyline - it was incredible. We got about 20 minutes there. The guide had Christmas music playing on the way back from Dyker Heights which was great (unfortunately because this was a different bus she didn't know how to get it going for the first part of the trip). All in all, it was a great tour and the lights at Dyker Heights are not to be missed. The photos I posted do not do the community lights justice and there were way too many decorations to photograph. I would definitely recommend the tour. Oh, and there's a bathroom on the bus!!!!
