New York Dyker Heights Christmas Lights

Overview

Nothing says Christmas like Dyker Heights, the most famous display of lights on the planet. Locals have been decorating their homes—personally and professionally—since the '80s, making it a true NYC winter wonderland.

THE TOUR WILL TAKE PLACE RAIN or SHINE!

The ride from Midtown to Dyker Heights in Brooklyn is about an hour long on board of our comfortable coach fully heated with a restroom on board.

Your guide will escort you to Lucy Spata's house, the house that started this tradition, and walk you through the most illuminated streets before taking you back to the bus. You will spend about an hour in Dyker Heights strolling around and taking pictures.

The next stop will be at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge in the DUMBO/Brooklyn Heights area of Brooklyn. You will have about 25 minutes to take pictures of the breathtaking Manhattan skyline and the Bridge.

Then you will return to Manhattan via the Manhattan Bridge. The tour ends at the Bryant Park Winter Village.

What To Expect

Dyker Heights

This is the main stop of our tour. (Note: buses are not allowed in Dyker Heights because of the narrow streets). Your guide will escort you to the two most illuminated streets and orient you. You will then have an hour to explore and take pictures on your own.

Brooklyn Heights

Stop to enjoy spectacular views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the breathtaking Manhattan Skyline illuminated! (Note: duration can be between 20-30 minutes depend on traffic.)

Bryant Park

This is where our tour ends. Bryant Park's Winter Village is a market with over 150 stalls selling seasonal food, drink & gifts as well as a large ice skating rink with skate rental. You can enjoy the view of the colorful Bryant Park Christmas tree and buy one of the best hot chocolate in town. The Rockefeller Center and its tree are only a few minutes walk from here.

The guide Francesca was very good. She gave us interesting information during the drive. Pace was good for walking part. It was easy to stay with the group and follow her wand. We were earlier than most groups which was nice. The decorations were incredible. Definitely recommend seeing the Dyker Heights decorations.

An amazing experience, pick up location easy to find, bus comfy, takes approx 1 hour to get to Dyker Heights, Frederica our guide was very knowledgeable & a lovely lady, we couldn’t of got better than her, she is amazing at her job. Walking around the neighbourhood was great seeing all the amazing efforts the homeowners put in, some of them were even outside there homes taking the time to speak to us as we passed by. We got back on the bus & headed to DUMBO where we could take pics of the skyline at night, then dropped off at Bryant Winter Park. The only thing I will say is bring a drink with you, we didn’t & were very thirsty after the 4 hour trip, especially when we were stuck in traffic. Other than that 10/10 experience & so glad we did this!

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the city … however she didn’t allow for different walking abilities and we found ourselves forever trying to catch up to her and missed most of the houses/lights we had paid to see, we were very disappointed Unless you are fit and active, don’t book this trip!
