First off, ranked this only a 4, because there were two of us as a couple on the flight. They seat you by weight, so you don't get to choose your seat. One of us was at the front alright hand side of the helicopter, the other was the back left, behind the pilot. As the pilot flew us up the river with Manhattan on the right, he was describing everything in Manhattan, on the right. The only person on the whole flight with a poor view was the one sat behind the pilot on the left hand side. As a result, one of us didn't see the yankee stadium, or Concorde or some of the more funky shaped buildings in NYC. Clearly the concept of helicopter flights work and they are amazing buy bear in mind that if you get unlucky and you are behind the pilot you will miss some sights. That said, if you are going to fly, push the budget to get the longest flight that you can afford, the longer the better for a great experience.

A helicopter tour is definitely the way to go! I have been to NYC dozens of times but took my niece on her first trip this summer. This was the first time I had taken a helicopter tour and loved every minute. My niece was in awe and has this perfect memory to take home with her.
