I’ve always wanted to take a photo safari class, but never pushed the button until this trip. My experience was one of the best in my week long visit to NY. Instructor Zim is an excellent teacher. Despite the rainy weather, she didn’t cancel the class. I enjoyed a tremendous experience with a professional photographer! First, she took the time to understand my skill level, and interests. She was clearly willing and capable (having ~20 years of experience) to teach anything from good point and shoot pictures to formal instruction in advanced techniques. She was familiar with the functioning of my camera, and was patient as I practiced. I got lots of helpful feedback. She stretched slightly past our scheduled time, as she clearly enjoys her work. She also shared interesting information about the city along the way. I travel to NY at least 1-2 weeks per year, and plan to incorporate this experience into each trip going forward. Through this class, my pictures gained a more personal style. She really emphasized how to focus my energy on artistic expression, while letting the camera ‘work’ in the ways it’s best designed to function. She challenged me to assess, and be responsible for every pixel in my photographs. This experience will definitely improve my work.

Zim was great and taught us a lot about perspective in our picture taking as well as some beginner/not so beginner basics and camera tricks to use with my SLR going forward. Well worth the time and energy as this is a fast paced tour that covers many of New York's Iconic attractions and great spots to capture some fantastic memories. A must activity on your quest for that photo that says it all!

The tour was awesome. Zim was very knowledgeable and learned a lot of new tricks- for using my Canon Camera.
