My daughter who's 11 years old knows a lot about Hamilton (because of the musical) and I was excited to learn about this historic figure from this tour. Our guide, John (Beardsley) was simply marvelous! He knew so much about Hamilton and New York in general, it was so fun to walk around with him. It was a cloudy day so we were the only people on the tour. John took his time and answered all my questions, I would highly recommend this tour even if you know nothing about Hamilton. You'd be pleasantly surprised by the end what you can learn.

We did a tour with Josh, he was really knowledgeable. Urban adventures have smaller groups than other companies which is more relaxed. Josh told us lots of fun stories about Hamilton and the tavern was a great ending. Recommended.

I graduated Columbia College in 1956 & many of my classes were in Hamilton Hall. There is a statue of Alexander Hamilton directly in front of his hall. In 1773 he attended Kings College for a year until it closed when the British occupied NYC. When it reopened it was renamed Columbia College. Urban Adventures offered me a tour called Hamilton Happy Hour. It began at Trinity Church off Wall Street where he is buried (along with members of his family). Hamilton was born on the Island of Nervis in the Leeward Islands in 1755. He passed away on my birthday July 12, 1804. You should read all about AH as well as try to see the musical Hamilton if you can get tickets (I have seen it 4 times, both off & on Broadway). This is about the tour. There were 7 of us with 4 from Holland & 2 from Australia. This would be my second tour with Josh Rogol, our guide. He gets a 5 Star Plus for his knowledge & friendliness. The tour lasts two hours at a cost of $30 (no food or drink included). We started at his gravesite and stopped at Zuccotti Park (site of the Occupy Wall Street movement) as well as the NY Stock Exchange, Federal Hall (where George Washington was sworn in as President), 40 Wall Street, Hanover Square, Stone Street with its restored buildings, granite paving and 1/2 dozen restaurants & cafes with both indoor & outdoor seating and ended our tour at Frances Tavern established in 1762.
