For ages 5 and up, this approx 3-hour tour is our 90 minute narrated overview Newport Mansions Trolley Tour PLUS a 90-minute tour ticket for admission inside the Vanderbilt Breaker's Mansion (total approx 3 hrs).

After boarding our luxurious and comfortable trolley at Bus Platform #2 of the Newport Transit Center, your driver starts the tour with a brief history of Colonial-era downtown and explains the Gilded Era history and events that occurred over the centuries. Then you will experience breath-taking views of scenic Ocean Drive prior to seeing the strip of mansions lining Bellevue Ave. Along the route, movie and TV sets will come to life, such as HBOs The Gilded Age, Hocus Pocus 2, the Great Gatsby, Amistad, True Lies, and a dozen more.

The duration of this tour is 160-180 minutes, depending on traffic conditions
This tour departs promptly at scheduled time. We cannot hold the trolley for stragglers. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure. We may sell the seats of passengers who are not on time to others who are waiting on standby
There are no refunds to passengers who arrive late and miss the tour
Please bring earbuds or headphones to hear the Breakers audio tour through your phone
Please do not meet directly at the Breakers mansion. You will visit the attraction during the trolley tour
Youth under 17 must be accompanied by an adult
Our drivers have updated manifests on their smart phones. Cancelled tickets are not accepted for admission
The trolley is not handicapped accessible.. Driver may assign seating based on customer's physical needs
Management at the Breakers Mansion no longer allows curbside drop off and pickup. All passengers are discharged and picked up in the bus lot at the mansion. Visitors will have a walking requirement about 700 feet from the drop off point to the front door of the mansion.
There are no longer any covid restrictions. All seats and rows are utilized and face coverings are not required

It was our first time to Newport, Rhode Island. Our tour guide was VERY good. We enjoyed the entire experience.

This driver was rude and crazy. Was on trolley as a family and he was so upset with the kids (who were giggling)and their parents (who were not doing anything) that He decided, after yelling and threatening the parents, to leave them stranded (as he was driving recklessly) and said the tour was over. Had to call an Uber to get back to hotel. After calling the owner, owner reimbursed our tour money. This incident has traumatized the children (6-9 yrs)!

Dear readers of the review above I would appeal to your common sense and ask you...Does anyone ever get removed from a trolley tour because there were just giggling children and the innocent parents sitting there doing nothing wrong? Seriously? The outlandish remarks from this reviewer are not only factually inaccurate, they are clearly indicative of where the problem lied during this altercation between this party of 10 who wrote this review and the other guests and driver. We have obtained statements from the other passengers in the trolley that were involved in the incident as well as the passengers who witnessed the incident and the feedback from those passengers clearly indicated that our driver acted responsibly and professionally throughout the altercation and that for the safety of all parties involved, it was best to remove this party of 10 to diffuse the situation for the remaining guests. The decision to remove the party was not made solely by the trolley driver, but made in concert with management as the incident was unfolding as the driver was on the phone with the owner and front office. I would also like to point out that at no time was this party of 10 "stranded". The "Uber" the review writer referred to was arranged and paid for by the company. Perhaps the review writer "just forgot" to include that .... Perhaps not. ALL customers who had their tour interrupted that afternoon due to this incident were given refunds and complementary tickets to the breakers. We at Newport Travel Trolley Tours strive to create a superior experience. In over 12 years of tour operations this is the 1st time we have had to request removal of guests due to disruptive, verbally abusive behavior. If you would like a TRUE and ACCURATE reflection of our tours you could certainly review the other 600 plus 5 star reviews. Thanks

Marco, our guide and driver was very friendly and a great tour guide on the trolley, telling some personal tales to make the tour more interesting! The self guided tour of The Breakers was good. Enjoyed seeing all of the rooms and grounds.
