For ages 5 and up, this approx 3-hour tour is our 90 minute narrated overview Newport Mansions Trolley Tour PLUS a 90-minute tour ticket for admission inside the Vanderbilt Breaker's Mansion (total approx 3 hrs).

After boarding our luxurious and comfortable trolley at Bus Platform #2 of the Newport Transit Center, your driver starts the tour with a brief history of Colonial-era downtown and explains the Gilded Era history and events that occurred over the centuries. Then you will experience breath-taking views of scenic Ocean Drive prior to seeing the strip of mansions lining Bellevue Ave. Along the route, movie and TV sets will come to life, such as HBOs The Gilded Age, Hocus Pocus 2, the Great Gatsby, Amistad, True Lies, and a dozen more.

The duration of this tour is 160-180 minutes, depending on traffic conditions
This tour departs promptly at scheduled time. We cannot hold the trolley for stragglers. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure. We may sell the seats of passengers who are not on time to others who are waiting on standby
There are no refunds to passengers who arrive late and miss the tour
Please bring earbuds or headphones to hear the Breakers audio tour through your phone
Please do not meet directly at the Breakers mansion. You will visit the attraction during the trolley tour
Youth under 17 must be accompanied by an adult
Our drivers have updated manifests on their smart phones. Cancelled tickets are not accepted for admission
The trolley is not handicapped accessible.. Driver may assign seating based on customer's physical needs
Management at the Breakers Mansion no longer allows curbside drop off and pickup. All passengers are discharged and picked up in the bus lot at the mansion. Visitors will have a walking requirement about 700 feet from the drop off point to the front door of the mansion.
There are no longer any covid restrictions. All seats and rows are utilized and face coverings are not required

The guide was quite informative, nice amount of facts without going overboard. Instilled some personal stories from his many years of providing tours, including his encounter with Jay Leno while giving a tour a few years back.

Arrived to the parking lot at 10am. As we (my family of 4) were walking to the trolley, it takes off at exactly 10:03am. Called the number provided and spoke with the owner/operator who was arrogant and rude. He did not give me the option to meet somewhere else as I would have certainly done so, even if it meant missing a portion of the tour. Instead he lies to me and tells me he will refund my money. I am now receiving notification from Trip Advisor that he has refused to do so. The fact he could not wait 2 mins (until 10:05am) for a tour that is scheduled and advertised for 10am, and now attempting to keep my money when services were not provided speaks volumes of the character of this owner. This tour was suppose to be a Father’s Day outing with the family while we were visiting Rhode Island. Thanks for making it memorable! I would highly recommend the Viking Trolley (shown in the picture) who waited until 10:10am for all passengers before it took off- that is true service! I have done many tours in multiples cities and have NEVER experienced something like this. Shameful!

This reviewer thinks making other passengers sit still waiting for stragglers for 25 minutes is "good customer service"? The other 95% of the passengers who arrive on time strongly disagree. The 10am tour starts boarding at 9:45am and that would be the result if we waited until 10:10am as she states. At 10:08am, this person called the owner to lodge her tirade. The owner actually picked up his phone on a Sunday morning (now THAT'S customer service!). She was the one who was rude and arrogant and wouldn’t let him get a word in edgewise. She further stated to the owner that our company has an obligation to hold the trolley until all passengers are there, regardless of how late they arrive. We realize problems can arise that make travelers late for tours. Over the years, we have always accommodated customers who phone us ahead of time and tell us they're not going to make their departure. We can rebook them on another tour and notify the driver who can sell the seats to someone who is on standby. This reviewer made no such effort until after the fact and then only made demands. Our business model will continue to cater to RESPONSIBLE customers who respect their fellow passengers.

Troy did a wonderful job telling everyone about the history of the Newport Mansions as well as additional information. The Breakers tour was well worth our time. Beautiful mansion! We downloaded the app that gave us valuable information.
