Overview

For ages 5 and up, this approx 90-min tour is an "overview" tour of scenic Newport.

After boarding our luxurious and comfortable trolley at platform #2 of the Newport Transit Center, your driver starts the tour with a brief history of Colonial-era downtown and explains the Gilded Age history and events that occurred over the centuries.

Then you will experience breath-taking views of scenic Ocean Drive prior to seeing the strip of mansions lining Bellevue Ave. Along the route, movie and TV sets will come to life, such as HBOs The Gilded Age, Hocus Pocus 2, The Great Gatsby, Amistad, True Lies, and a dozen more.

Today's happenings are also thoroughly covered such as the best dining spots, boat tours, and other fun activities. Your tour guide will detail the best way to navigate this bustling city as well as explain the Cliff Walk attractions.

The duration of this tour is 70-90 minutes, depending on traffic conditions
This tour departs promptly at scheduled time. We cannot hold the trolley for stragglers. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure. We may sell the seats of passengers who are not on time to others who are waiting on standby
There are no refunds to passengers who arrive late and miss the tour
Our drivers have updated manifests on their smart phones. Cancelled tickets are not accepted for admission
Youth under 17 must be accompanied by an adult
The trolley is not handicapped accessible. Driver may assign seating based on customer's physical needs
There are no longer any covid restrictions. All seats and rows are utilized and face coverings are not required

They took our payment and then said the trip was full. I haven’t seen a reimbursement yet. Thank you for asking, maybe you help us get our $$$$ back

You weren't robbed of anything. You booked a tour, received your confirmation, and then you erroneously tried to buy the same tour again after it sold out. You actually had a booking and you admitted in an email that you missed the tour without even showing up at the bus platform. You were refunded in full once we received the Trip Adv refund request the following day. It would be nice if customers would own up to their own mistakes before posting slanderous reviews.

Enjoyed the tour of the mansions - my issue with the experience was the confusion of actually finding where to board the trolley- there are absolutely no signs or instructions - we had to ask numerous people that were in the area - many did not know what we were even talking about - very confusing,

The instructions are posted prior to purchasing, then again on your e-receipt or paper receipt. They read: "Tours depart from the Newport Bus Terminal, 23 America's Cup Ave. Look for the white trolley at platform #2". Unfortunately since the Visitor Center shut down due to the pandemic, much of Newport's activities were forced to sell online only. We are sorry this caused you confusion, but great to hear you enjoyed the tour.
