We highly recommend spending a few hours on the Rhode Island Red Food Tour while on a visit to Newport. Our guide, Andrew, was wonderful mixing in fun tidbits of history with samplings from some fabulous restaurants. All of the stops along the tour offered something special from amazing atmosphere to very tasty and unique offerings. We had spent several days in Newport before doing the tour but had not discovered any of the spots on the tour. Perro Salado was one hidden gem that from the outside may not be someplace you would try but the Sticky Pork Ribs were so tender and delicious. The rest of the menu looked very tempting as well and is definitely a place we will visit on our next trip to Newport. A visit to the White Horse Tavern was fascinating with the local history and their take on a cheesecake dessert was so creative and tasty. All in all, the Rhode Island Red Food Tours was a perfect way to spend an afternoon in Newport !

Whether visiting Newport or a native of the city, I highly recommend trying the Rhode Island Red Food Tour. Not only was our tour guide Andrew extremely informative, providing the history of Newport, but we were able to taste some amazing food at restaurants that we returned to during the remainder of our weekend.

My husband and I had a great time on this tour! We wanted to learn a little about Newport and Rhode Island history while on vacation, but we didn't want to be bored. Since we're foodies, we thought this would be a great option. Our guide, Andrew, is obviously a fan of local history, and his excitement and passion makes him a great story-teller. The food at all of the restaurants we visited was amazing, and we were both full by the end! I'd recommend doing this tour early in a trip so you can re-visit some of these great eats for a full meal.
