The Rhode Island Red food tour is a fantastic way to familiarize yourself with both the food and the history of Newport. Besides the restaurants and café we visited on the tour, Paula recommended so many more places to go that we wished we took the tour in the beginning of our holiday to try them all out! However, thanks to the tour we found great places to eat out on our last day in Newport. Paula is a brilliant tour guide, filled with local knowledge and historical facts. A must do in Newport!

I truly enjoyed the food tour. The food was free and and it was plenty! The guide did a great job in timing the stops at the different restaurant. Food was great at every stop, but more importantly it was diverse. We started at the tikki bar with calamari at Salvation Cafe and looped around for desert at the White Horse Tavern ( where they have the best wanton wrapped cheese dessert I've ever tasted) then pizza, ribs, beer and so much more. What made it more enjoyfull is also a bit a history , not only about restaurants but also about the local neighborhood. After all we wanted to get a glimpse of Newport's culture and this tour provided that and more! We are looking forward to the next tour :)

Paula did a wonderful job. She is a bit of a history buff and the time spent walking to our next food destination was filled with many historical facts. But, don't for a second think this tour is nothing but a gastronomical experience. Bring a healthy appetite, and be ready to be wowed by hotdogs, pizza, beer. Ok, maybe you think where's my chowder I'm in Newport, but if you're a true foodie, you'll see why you got the chance to venture into the remote dining experiences in what is truly Newport at it's finest.
