What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

This tour was amazing! Our guide, Domenick was so knowledgeable about Newport! Every house he pretty much knew and we drove along the ocean and stopped to take pictures. The Breakers was a beautiful mansion that we walked through and walked the grounds. Would recommend this tour!

This overview tour of Newport including the admission to the Breakers was a great value for the money. The timing and convenience of not having to use our car was well worth it. The entire tour took about 3 hours – half of it for the trolley sightseeing and the other half for the Breakers. Our trolley guide, Ray, was wonderful. A life-long native of Newport, he really gave an insider’s perspective. Also, health and safety protocols were followed – masks, limited capacity, contact tracing info. One thing to note is where to get the trolley. We were told to go to the Newport Visitor and Information Center. However, since the center itself was closed due to the pandemic, we thought the trolley was going to come to the front of the center to pick us up. We later found the trolley on the other side of the building which was Newport’s bus hub.
