What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

Guided trolley ride was interesting. It is a tour of the whole Newport area vs just the mansion area. We had the tour that included the breakers tour. I would recommend buying the breaker tickets separate because they only gave us 1hr 15 minutes and then we had to get back on the trolley (you park right by downtown not by the mansions so you need your ride back!). We could have used 1:30 or 1:45 at the breakers.

Understood- it’s a delicate balance on timing. Some passengers can take 30-45 min others could spend all day. Glad you enjoyed your time with us though!

Very good overview tour with a knowledgeable and engaging host. If you haven’t been to Newport, the trolley tour is a good orientation.
