What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

Loved the entire ride. Our guide was exceptional. So very personable and funny and educational. The tour was informative and the weather was perfect. And of course the Breakers was beyond opulent and gorgeous. What a wonderful day we all had.

This excursion was so well done. We were fortunate to have a beautiful day. Our driver/guide, Ray was just outstanding. He added personal stories mixed in with historical information. He kept it interesting with endearing family anecdotes, and waving to his friends along the route. We were very satisfied with the number of sites and length of time of the tour. It was a great way to learn as much as possible about Newport. Later we used a free trolley to return to town after walking the roads Ray drove us. With the information he gave us we were able to enjoy our slower paced walk. We also took the rum runners boat cruise in the afternoon and saw the homes from a different view than the trolley. The excursions complimented each other.

Very pleasant tour around the Newport area. Guide was very knowledgeable. Wish tour had been longer with more time to see more of the mansions (even the exterior). The Breakers and Marble House tour was not available when we booked. Time at The Breakers is well worth the stop.
