What To Expect

The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

Our tour guide was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable and made the trip fun. The breakers mansion was beautiful. Wish we’d had a little more time there.

Dominic clearly knows Newport! Really enjoyed his commentary of homes and buildings in this unique city! Could’ve just stopped for 5 min break (although my husband had some motion sickness from the jerky trolly and used the break!). A little less commentary before we started the tour and maybe periodic stops on the tour to share more?? Breakers was overwhelming! Too many people. I wish they had timed tours rather than self guided and actual tour guides. Could’ve learned so much more about the people, the fire, reconstruction. Still glad to have seen it!

The trolley tour was a very good way to see Newport. Our guide, Ray, was informative plus highly entertaining. He had tons of personality and was very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed the Breakers as well.
