The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

Ray Lynch our guide was excellent. We toured the Breakers which was amazing. I liked how Ray Lynch our guide added a local twist to the tour. Beautiful scenery. The mansions were excellent, cool to see Jay Leno’s house. Lots of religious freedom history too. -Cole, Virginia Beach, VA.

I loved this tour, okay and Newport. Small town is beautiful and very peaceful. I booked tour through Viking Tours directly in lieu of purchasing off cruise ship or any other sites. Tour bus was two short blocks from where cruise dropped me off and signage made it easy to find where to meet correct tour group. Our tour guide was a retired history teacher which made the trip great. I appreciated the history of the area and locations we visited. I enjoyed the Breakers mansion and wish I had more time to see some of the other mansions. If you are looking for a short tour of the area I highly recommend booking through Viking. If you are arriving via a cruise ship its a more affordable option than the prices cruise ships offer.

we took this tour on a Monday. We actually had it booked for Saturday but got delayed due to personal issues. We called and they graciously re-booked us to a later date. It starts at 11 AM and it is about 2 to 2.5 hours of tour plus the tour of the Breakers for an hour. The tour itself was very enjoyable and quite informative. The ocean drive is awesome. Our daughter wasnt feeling too well so we skipped the Breakers but our driver confirmed that the tickets dont expire so we were able to visit the next day.
