The Breakers

Tour includes Admission to ONE of the following Newport Mansions: The Breakers, The Marble House, or Rosecliff. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. *As of January 3, 2022 all Preservation Society of Newport Mansions are requiring proof of vaccines for all children aged 5 and up. As of January 15, 2022 all adults must also show proof of their Booster Vaccines. This policy is No Exceptions!

We knew planning our trip to Newport that we wanted to tour the mansions. We just assumed we'd drive to one, pay and go in, the day before we discovered this tour and it was 100% the BEST way to do it! We learned so much more about the whole area AND got to tour The Breakers! We loved it! Dominic was fantastic!

We were disappointed with this tour. Our guide tried to entertain and made some lame jokes, but we would have preferred more information about the homes and Newport. We got stuck in traffic because he was not aware that today was the start of the Newport Jazz festival. The information on the houses was superficial at best — you will learn more by going online and downloading the app for house tours. Our guide might have had an off day, but we came away feeling the tour was not worth the price.

We had an excellent guide, with wonderful stories to tell about all the sites we were passing. The cruise ship was quite comfortable, and the passengers all seemed to be having soooo much fun!
