Overview

Enjoy delightful food from five restaurants while strolling the historic streets of Newport, Rhode Island! Our tour begins in front of the Wave sculpture on the corner of America's Cup Ave. and Memorial Blvd.. We will talk about Newport's infamous pirates, Revolutionary War armies, the Gilded Age of mansions and industrialists, the Irish American heritage up to and including the condominium boom. Our tour will last 2.5 hours and will cover approximately 1.75 miles. Bring your appetites, you will not be disappointed!

Our meeting place which is located in front of the Wave Sculpture, at the corner of America's Cup Blvd and Memorial Blvd.in the heart of Newport. Following your check in, we give a brief history of the 41 North and the Armory, then continue on to our "Off the Beaten Path" tour. If you have been to Newport many times or if this is your first time, you will experience many new facts and wonderful restaurants along the way.

A group of five of us from work took the walking food tour with Morgan on Thursday. Despite it being cold and cloudy, we had a blast and ate some great food! We had seven stops and just enough walking and fresh air. Left feeling full but not stuffed after 3 hours. Food and drink choices were diverse and delicious. Morgan was also full of Newport knowledge. Great, bubbly personality.

This was a delightful and engaging way to spend and afternoon with the kids exploring a new town. We toured with our 14 and 13 year old girls. The restaurant selections were spot on delicious and totally unpretentious. Sliders are not just sliders, these elevated a common and sometimes banal food to something outstanding. We made four stops and were not disappointed by any of them. I highly recommended this food tour. It was entertaining, delicious and we even learned some Newport history. Don’t pass this up.

Our party of 4 loved the food tour. Sue was a great guide and was extremely knowledgeable about the restaurants and the historical stops. I can't wait to go back for burgers and chicken! I would definitely recommend this food tour!
