Overview

You will get an amazing 3 mile tour just outside Chattanooga, Tennessee at Nickajack Lake and will learn about gray bats, osprey, cliff swallows, blue heron, and other wildlife. Your guide will discuss how they are all interconnected, what is being done to protect these wild animals, and what impact you can do to help the incredible endangered gray bat. We throw in a little history of the Tennessee River and how it became what it looks like today. With a grand finale of watching 100,00 gray bats leave the cave at sunset.

I brought a group of ladies to Chattanooga for a bit of kayaking. Zach and his crew at Chattanooga Guided Adventures did a phenomenal job! They were all very knowledgeable about the fauna as well as the history of the area. We did the Nickajack Bat tour and the dam/lock tour. My ladies thoroughly enjoyed both tours and are looking forward to coming back for more adventures. Thank you, Zach, for making this such an awesome get-away kayak trip for us.

Great trip! My second time and love the history the scenery. Excellent weather and love watching the bats in search of their food. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable of the history and the environmental impact humans have on bat populations.

Great tour, Thomas did a wonderful job guiding the tour, answering questions, and getting us geared up. Would definitely recommend this experience to others. Be sure to bring some bug spray though...the bats are in the area for a reason lol!
