It is basically kayaking in a pond and then waiting for the bats to fly by. The guide was taking photos but they never sent them to us. After a few messages we did get a link but none of the photos were if us. Felt like a rip off.

Hi Joanna, The Nickajack Bat Cave Kayak Tour actually happens on Nickajack Lake which is a part of the Tennessee River. It is home to a maternity colony of the endangered gray bats. You had two guides who led you on an interpretative tour, teaching you about endangered bats, the life cycles, and protections the now receive. Your guides also taught about the history of the area prior to the dams and we saw another endangered species like the bald eagle on this trip. Our guides do take free photos of our guests during the trip. These are not advertised at all in the description of the trip, nor do well sell them to you, so it shocks me that you feel you were ripped off as these photos are free for you. Having booked through a third party it makes it more challenging to get these photos to you at the end of our trips which we did get them to you after receiving your email. We ask our guests every night if they would like to pose for a set photo. I was on this trip and know that we did do so after viewing Nickajack Dam. We also did take candid photos along the way during this trip and every guest on the trip was in at least one photo as I just went and looking before responding to your review. We strive to go above and beyond what we advertise for our trips and believe we did it here. Thank you for taking your time to leave a review.

Perfect little kayak trip out on the water. Educational and interesting. I would recommend to anyone. Watching the sunset and looking at bats was just what I wanted

Margaret was friendly and a great guide. She took us around the lake prior to the bats coming out and had a lot of knowledge of the area to share. She also positioned in the perfect spots for sunset pictures and bat videos.
