You will get an amazing 3 mile tour just outside Chattanooga, Tennessee at Nickajack Lake and will learn about gray bats, osprey, cliff swallows, blue heron, and other wildlife. Your guide will discuss how they are all interconnected, what is being done to protect these wild animals, and what impact you can do to help the incredible endangered gray bat. We throw in a little history of the Tennessee River and how it became what it looks like today. With a grand finale of watching 100,00 gray bats leave the cave at sunset.

This was a beautiful trip of the Nickajack Lake! Very educational and the bat cave was extremely amazing!! Our guides Zach and Thomas were wonderful, and Thomas was very helpful with my 10-year-old who was afraid. He tethered her to his kayak and pulled her along the whole time. Thank you for that! Will defiantly do this again and we are considering the Lock tour also (leaving our daughter with my mother)!

This was an amazing adventure! The scenery is so beautiful and we even had a rainbow over the lake for over an hour that just added to our outing. Our guides were perfect and shared so much information with us about the bats and their cave. We also had 7 teens with us and the guides were patient with explaining how to handle their kayaks and answer every last question that they had. I would highly recommend this experience!!

I highly recommend the Nickajack Bat Cave Kayak Tour! The guide for our trip, who is also the owner of the company, was super knowledgeable and engaging. He started the group out with some kayaking basics 101, which was perfect for total beginners and people that need a little refresher on how to kayak. We then headed out to explore the lake and learn more about the history of the lake and wildlife. We saw bats roosting under a bridge and otters. Then we paddled over to the cave at sunset to watch the bats fly out. It was so cool to see the bats flying against the backdrop of an amazing sunset and sounds of the surrounding woods. I was looking for something outdoors and adventure-ish while in Chattanooga for a few days. This was a perfect end to my trip before heading home the next morning. You won't regret signing up for this! I suspect the other experiences offered by this company are just as fun as well. It is always great to support a local, small business too.
