You will get an amazing 3 mile tour just outside Chattanooga, Tennessee at Nickajack Lake and will learn about gray bats, osprey, cliff swallows, blue heron, and other wildlife. Your guide will discuss how they are all interconnected, what is being done to protect these wild animals, and what impact you can do to help the incredible endangered gray bat. We throw in a little history of the Tennessee River and how it became what it looks like today. With a grand finale of watching 100,00 gray bats leave the cave at sunset.

I enjoyed touring the lake area to various points and listening to the guide who would have something interesting to say about the view in front of us. Our guide (Thomas… I think😬) was knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife within, very friendly and seem to have a way to make the more shy members of our group feel comfortable. Very well suited for his role in this experience. My favorite part; as I am sure is for most, was right at dusk when everyone on the lake became silent anticipating the event. I was able enjoy watching the bats as they emerged from the cave making their way towards me. Seeing and hearing them all around my kayak was surprisingly calming and particularly nice to see against the background of a setting sun.

Fantastic kayak tour of Nickajack lake. Thomas was wonderful and very informative. We saw a river beaver, Osprey, Blue Heron, Swallows. At sunset we watch the flight of 100,000 bats. I
