Overview
This trip runs on Eastern Time.
You will get an amazing 3 mile tour just outside Chattanooga, Tennessee at Nickajack Lake and will learn about gray bats, osprey, cliff swallows, blue heron, and other wildlife. Your guide will discuss how they are all interconnected, what is being done to protect these wild animals, and what impact you can do to help the incredible endangered gray bat. We throw in a little history of the Tennessee River and how it became what it looks like today. With a grand finale of watching 100,00 gray bats leave the cave at sunset.

The tour was amazing! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable in the history of the cave and of the surrounding areas. They offered single or tandem kayaks, it was nice to have that option! Seeing the bats fly out of the cave was a great experience, definitely well worth the money.

This was the experience my husband and I were most looking forward to this trip. About an hour before the scheduled time, I called the number on the website to make sure that the tour was still going to happen (even though the website clearly says that they run the tour rain or shine), but I got no answer. My husband and I drove out to the meeting area and there was absolutely no one there. Completely abandoned. I called the number again. Again, no answer. But I left a message this time. We walked around the area for 10-15 minutes to see if anyone would show or return my call. No one ever did. I sent an email to the address on the website. Shortly after, I got an email from the third party website that they use for ticketing and I did get a full refund. This all took place 3 days ago and I have not heard a single word from the actual company about what happened that day. So, schedule at your own risk.

Hi Lindsay, Our apologies we should have done better in our communication of the cancellation with you. We sent out an weather cancellation email through our booking system to all of our guests due to the high winds coming off the hurricane Helene it makes it unsafe for us to go out on the water on the date you are referring to. Your email address wasn't in our system as it wasn't automatically transfered over from the third party website you used to book the trip. We normally send out a phone call as well to let you know of the cancellation but have had trouble getting back to all of our guests due to the volume of calls we have received regarding the hurricane these last few days. Again this is our mistake. Please give us a call and we would like to offer you a complementary trip on us for letting you down. We would love to make it up to you and show you were are much better than your initial experience with us.

Had a great time on this trip. Bill and Sam were great guides and very knowledgeable. Definitely would recommend this. Seeing the bats fly all around you is a great experience.
