Nauticus

Nauticus is a maritime discovery center located along the waterfront in downtown, Norfolk offering a unique form of experiential learning for all ages. Stroll through interactive exhibits to learn the story of the maritime environment, industry, and the military.

Battleship Wisconsin at Nauticus

Berthed at Nauticus, the Battleship Wisconsin is one of the largest and last battleships ever built by the U.S. Navy. You will be transported back in time as they walk the teakwood decks of this majestic ship that earned six battle stars in World War II and Korea.

Norfolk Botanical Garden

The largest botanical garden in Virginia. Experience over 165 acres in 20 themed gardens on foot or by guided tram. Walking trails are over 12 miles long and perfect to explore all of the themed gardens. Wonderful for children as well with the "WOW Children's Garden", which offers opportunities for learning and exploration for family members of all ages. Trek across the globe in the world-themed splash fountains and Passport Gardens, see, smell, and touch edible plants on Discovery Peak, and take a nature walk through the Plant Safari habitat gardens. Open seven days a week year around.

Virginia Zoo

The Virginia Zoo is home to more than 700 animals, representing over 150 species. See tigers, loins, bears and more! The Virginia Zoo is a 53-acre zoo located adjacent to Lafayette Park in Norfolk, Virginia. The zoo opened in 1900, and was accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in 1987.

I’d give no stars if I was able too. We bought this went to the place we were suppose to pick up tickets and it was closed “due to sickness”. I have called and left a message but have not heard anything in response. So we did not get our tickets we paid for and had to pay again to get into things we had already paid for!! So upset. I’d love a refund.

This is the first time we have ever had to close due to the illness of the person that was scheduled. We had no one else to fill in, not that was fair to you. We did issue a credit and profusely apologize. It was more expensive to do the passport than each individual attraction. The ship was very nice the zoo did not have many animals to see.

If you have children under 2, the Virginia Zoological Park is free. Please let me know if that was the case. That is the only reason I can think of that the price would have been more. The animals aren't always cooperative when the weather is hot, especially mid-day. We do hope you'll come back again and visit the other Norfolk attractions. Hopefully, you were able to cool off at the Norfolk Botanical Garden splash pads. Updated- we did issue a refund due to the child ticket price.
