It was in operation from 1865 until 1996. Popular stops to visit are the ā€œsoap factoryā€ and ā€œsurfboard shopā€ found inside the old mill.
4
Mokuleia Beach Park

5
North Shore Macadamia Nut Company
Next to Historic Haliewa Town lies a hidden culinary gem, a local Macadamia shop that finds itself tucked away under the comforting shade of an aged Banyan tree. The macadamia nuts here are sourced from the foothills of Oahuā€™s tallest peak, Mt. Kaala, from an orchid comprising of over 1200 macadamia nut trees on 24 acres. These are the freshest macadamia nuts on the whole island of Oahu, creating a wonderful edible experience as you continue your day trip into the history of Hawaiian agriculture. Other culinary delights located here include authentic North Shore Acai Bowls or tasty Kona coffee samples.
6
Haleiwa Town Center
Your last stop on the North Shore is a step back in time to one of Oahuā€™s oldest towns. Originally built as a home for immigrant sugar plantation workers, Haliewa is now a quaint surf town, filled with a variety of boutique shops, surf shops, and shaved ice stops. As time has passed, the state has set up architectural guidelines requiring the design of existing buildings and newly erected buildings to reflect the plantation-style architecture of the early years of Haleiwaā€™s sugar industry which makes it a refreshing stop away from the bustling streets and tall buildings of Waikiki.
7
King Kamehameha Statue
Before returning to Waikiki and dropping off the guests, our guide will stop to see the King Kamehameha Statue. A perfect way to tie in some additional Hawaiian history on top of the agricultural lineage that they have just experienced through the day on the North Shore Dole Pineapple Tour.

The tour covered everything in their itinerary, Charley was friendly and informative and made the trip fun. My husband absolutely loved the trip, he found the Dole Plantation really interesting, I enjoyed the trip but thought it was a bit expensive for what we got. Yes it was interesting and we were told when we booked it that it wasn't one where you went to spots that are touristy but as with all tours it was. I am not saying I didn't enjoy it but I think they could take you somewhere nicer for lunch, especially since we had to pay for it ourselves and there was no where else close by, the food was pretty bland from a van. We saw one turtle that had lost a flipper and was not very well, I know this can't be promised but it was a nice place to stop. I think I would have just preferred the Around Island Tour just not sure I needed to know so much about pineapples which was the main part of this tour, as I said my husband loved it I just think I enjoy nice scenery more...one note of advice....do not wear white shoes, two ladies did on our tour and with the very red dirt their shoes were ruined.

Jay was a wonderful tour guide! Plenty of dialog and interesting stories about the island and points of interest. The behind the scenes visit to the pineapple farm and processing plant were simply amazing! We had a perfect day and would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Oahu who want to enjoy a fun, relaxing day and see parts of the island beyond Honolulu and Waikiki Beach. My only recommendation to the tour operator would be to incorporate a stop at the Dole Plantation for the famous Dole Whip. This would really bring home the whole pineapple experience!

We booked the tour (hidden gems tour with the byodo-in temple) on our first day on the island and were grateful that we did. The instructions were very clear and i even got a reminder text i believe the day before the tour. We had the pleasure of Charlie being our tour guide - he is a local, lived there most of his life, and gave us some great tips while guiding us through the island. The stops were about 30 minutes each, giving you enough time to buy a few things but not enough time to fully explore. It includes lunch at the Fumi shrimp shack, which is absolutely amazing and i was never able to find another dish like their spicy garlic shrimp. We also stopped a fruit stand that had fresh fruit for cheap. I would suggest comfortable sneakers, water, sunscreen, and dramamine (if you get motion sickness). Bring a tote for whatever you're buying because vendors do not provide plastic bags. Big tip: if youā€™re bringing kids, please bring their headphones if they're going to be on their phones. Overall, i highly recommend taking this tour whether this is youā€™re first time or returning. Charlie provided a lot of great information about the island and about interesting places for tourists to visit. Mahalo Charlie!
