I went to the lesson by myself and felt a little apprehensive about being alone in an unfamiliar place. However, as soon as I notified them that I had arrived, I received an immediate response and the instructor came right after I received the response. She was the most patient and encouraging instructor EVER. She gave me a thorough lesson on the shore and a safety brief (which was greatly appreciated). What impressed me the most was every time I wanted to quit, she encouraged me and validated that I was brave enough to get out in the rough ocean especially since I am over 50 y/o. Because she was so encouraging, I kept trying and I never felt defeated. For me, her empathy and expertise gave me the opportunity to cross surfing off my bucket list after waiting 30 yrs. to do it. I left the lesson feeling awesome about myself.💗

Surfing was challenging but is definitely worth trying when visiting North Shore! Instructor was very helpful and motivating throughout the lesson!
