Chena Hot Springs Resort
After wandering through the cool museum, don your bathing suit and enjoy the resort’s legendary namesake. The revitalizing mineral water soothes muscles with its warm temperatures of 106 degrees F (41 degrees C) year-round. You can also soak under the stars in an outdoor hot tub, or indoors in the heated pool. In between, slip away to the Aurora Café or the historic Resort Restaurant, where you can purchase meals, snacks, or beverages. When ready, join your expert guide for a small-group outing to view the Aurora Borealis. Your guide will lead you through one of the best places on earth to witness the green and purple illuminations loop across the night sky. Wait and witness the celestial wonder with hot beverages in the late evening, when viewing opportunities are the highest. The lights are also visible inside the cafe's Aurora Room, which serves as a comfortable and warm location for viewings. Note: We can never guarantee the Northern lights sighting.

Our driver was on time for our pickup and very friendly. The hot springs was a great experience. The food at the restaurant was good. I feel that the set up for watching the Aurora Borialis was not that good because of light pollution from the resort and the annoying light coming from the activity center.

Great tour guidance. Very knowledgeable. Great experience. hot spring feels more special in the winter. The ice museum is very cool ice carving exhibits. Aurora view needs a clear sky and it is fabulous.

Our guided tour to Chena was fantastic on so many levels. Bill our driver/tour guide, shared a wealth of knowledge about Alaska and shared personal stories about growing up in Alaska. His stories about native lore and living in Alaska were very interesting. He is a very good driver on narrow, icy roads and we felt completely safe on our trip to and from Chena. On a side note, Bill offered to introduce us to his alter-ego "Ted" but we declined. We'll save meeting "Ted" for our next trip. Booking with this company was quick and easy. Every promise made about the trip was fulfilled. We were picked up at the front door of our hotel on time and dropped off back at the hotel as stated in their brochure. The trip to Chena Hot Springs was uneventful and we had plenty of time during the trip to talk to Bill and the other guests traveling with us. After our arrival, we were given plenty of time to visit the hot springs, restaurant and the ice museum before viewing the Northern Lights. And seeing the Northern Lights in person is unbelievably cool (no pun intended). Photo's of the Northern lights just isn't enough. You have to be there in person to see them begin, slowly intensify, move around and slow disappear, just dress warmly and sign up Alaska Wildlife Guide LLC. Be sure and ask for Bill. When I use a tour company for the very first time, my greatest complement and sign of complete satisfaction is to book another trip with the same company. We will definitely use this company again on our next trip to Fairbanks and will be asking for Bill as our tour guide.
